New hair!

Here's me after the first round of dye:

And just now, after the second round, in my PJs:

Is it blue or purple?! Not even sure myself...

For those who have been asking, the first round was Manic Panic's Ultra Violet, in the second round I added Atomic Turquoise. ^^
Enough pics for you...? Haha, sorry!

I love it!

My friends call me "grapehead" because of my hair color.

Oooohh purple/blue! Yay hahaha I guess you could say your hair is indigo? Whatever, it looks lovely! I'd love to know what brand of hair dye you used.

I like the lavender-like purples in some of the latter shots... Suits you!

Awesome! It's a great color!

I had the same dilemma when I tried to dye my hair purple with Manic Panic's Ultra Violet and it turned out bluer than the blue dyes I tried.. :/
Either way, it looks really good on you... May I ask what type of dye you used?

*I deleted the other comment because I've written "of" not "or" T.T'*

I like that new hair, super cool ^^

Once I was willing to paint my hair of flaming red (e.e) or purple, but I'm sure if I'll do it, my parents will not agree or make fun of me. -__- Better wear wigs... when I find money ofr it. xD

You look cute in this colour! How do you feel about it yourself?

Wow, that's an incredible colour! Really suits you, too. Love the mix of blue and purple, it's a lot more interesting than it just being straight-up one colour. WHAT'S YOUR SECRET? :P

It looks brilliant, whether blue or purple or what!

Danielle xo :-)

Haha, blurple, I love it!

It's a mix of Ultra Violet and Atomic Turquoise... my original intention WAS to go cupcake pink but I found my old tubs of Manic Panic in the bathroom cupboard and couldn't resist experimenting...

Personally I love it, although all of a sudden random strangers keep grabbing chunks of my hair and stroking it which I don't really appreciate much... :-/

It's beautiful!

That's awesome! I like the two-colour effect. :)

experimenting i see! o_e

it's striking how almost EVERYTHING looks good on you, Amy. even anime blurple hair... not everyone can get away with this, i think you know. and it has an uber-lovely effect paired with black clothing.

bound to make heads turn!

love it love it LOVE it~

P.S. any color you haven't tried?

P.S. i'd have loved to see your mum's reaction when she saw it! ...did she?

aah it's awesome!! I love your hair!! :D

An old friend once had the same shade (close, anyway), and it also looks great under black light!

I used to suffer the complete strangers grabbing my hair routine when it was very fake red. It's incredibly rude, as if you're not a real person with boundaries. :/

LovleAnjel said...

I have really curly hair, and strangers have come up and yanked on it to see it bounce back. It's like they're toddlers or something.

Cassandra said...

Why is the blue/violet line so controversial? The English language distinguishes them as two different colors (not every language does), but no one seems to agree on where the boundary is.

In any case, the finished product is very artistic-looking. Some dye jobs are so lacking in imagination; not this one!

I like it. I think your hair looks great.

Eternal Second - never tried yellow. ^^

Mum actually liked it, she was helping me touch up some of the silvery/blonde bits with a little more colour. My grandma, on the other hand, almost flipped her lid. She liked it when I was blonde; she kind of wants a 'normal' girly girl granddaughter and was all "What have you done? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" I AM a girly-girl, actually, but she can't recognise that, she just sees weird hair, tatts, piercings and stompy boots. Bless her. ^^

Wow, I LOVE the purple/blue on you-it looks fabulous. Well done-I wish I wasn't too chicken to do my whole head a bright color!

VictorianKitty (Sophistique Noir) said...

You look great! This color makes your eyes shine (from what we can see in the photos without a camera blocking them *wink*).

I love this colour, I wish i was that brave.

inktwister said...

I hope it's okay for me to say your hair reminds me of Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Awesome. :3

ultimategothguide said...

Inktwister - you're talking to a girl who owns more than 400 My Little Ponies. It's VERY OK. :-D

VictorianKitty - ha, you caught me... I had no make-up on, I was going to bed...

@animelover20 (and Jamie, I guess):

Why aren't you that brave?

If you want purple/blue/whatever-it-is/whatever-you-want hair, get it! Unless you have a reason like a job or school or parents not letting you, or your life would be in danger if you did...

You cannot live your life scared of what other people will think. The vast majority of people aren't worth it, and guess what? Most people don't care.

Either they'll ignore you, they'll like it, or they'll be amused ("I liked (whatever colour) better." "What colour's next?" "Ohh, do (insert colour here)"). Very few people will dislike it (openly or in private) and they're the kind of people who don't like anything anyways.

I've been dying my hair crazy colours on and off for... 4? 5? years now.

I've a few strange looks (I can count all the ones I've noticed on one hand), some good-natured teasing comments, and a couple not-so-good-natured teasing (and I can count the people who've done that on one hand)...

but it's worth it. Having fun hair is fun (obviously). The feeling of looking how you want and trying all the strange things that take your fancy is great. And honestly? In my experience, people's reactions are nowhere near as bad as you think they'll be.

So, if you want to and you can, you should. That is all.

Sorry, Amy, for taking over your comment section for a "do what you want (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, of course) and fuck the rest" monologue. Oops.
