New tattoo and shop review: Poison Ink Tattoos and Apparel

Hello again! I guess it's been a while... it's been party, shop, party, too much Chinese food, work, work, shop, party, migraine, music festival, tattoo, shop, migraine, holiday planning (BENIDORM 2013, bitches!!) too much Chinese food over the last few days or so for me (are you sensing a pattern yet?) hence the unscheduled disappearance. I've been pretty bad at updating regularly this year but I promise you I am trying. :-S

Anyhoo! I got a new tattoo this Wednesday. I went back to my favourite artist, Steph at Poison Ink Tattoos in Basingstoke, and was delighted to see that the lovely people at the studio have opened their own store selling little-known alternative brands such as Sullen, Rockin' Bones, and some deadly cute accessories (I bought a lovely rose-and-eyeball hairclip made by none other than Steph herself). Well worth checking out, should you happen to be in the Basingstoke area (take the bus to Wade Road!). Here's my cute new T-shirt by Rockin' Bones (apparently Poison Ink are one of only two shops in the UK stocking this make):

You would be surprised how many people thought the tattoo-protecty cling film was actually some kind of bizarre fashion statement. I'm not THAT odd. Yet.

Now, my new tattoo! It itches like blazes right now, let me tell you. :-S It's healing nicely though, no scabbing as of yet. This is what it looks like:
Left wrist

Right wrist
Excuse my greasy, Bepanthen-covered skin... >.<

Hmm. I was just about to tell you what the quote is from but I'm curious to know if any of you have the same geekery sources as I do, so I wonder if perhaps you know the answer? Let me know! ;-)

LOOKS NICE. BUT IS IT REAL? DID YOU REALLY CUT YOUR ARM WITH A RAZOR? OUCH...NOW THAT WOULD SCARE ME. I HATE PAIN, OR ANY KIND OF SUFFERING. OR IS IT A TATY-OO? I LOVE THE STATEMENT THOUGH.

I love it! I did recognise it but I had to look it up. I knew it was a vampire novel or movie I had seen. I should probably have guessed exactly what it was given the number of times I have read that book. It is on the dresser in my bedroom right now.I won't say what it is so others can guess :P

Not to give it away, but I know what it's from! That's my favorite modern vampire story. Lovely tattoo!

The new tattoos are beautiful, I love the idea of having one quote split in half! Great idea, really! To be honest, I have no idea where the quote comes from but I know I have heard it before...

Lost Souls! They are the lyrics from Ghost and Steve's song. The script is lovely and I love the blood splatter detail.

I love that tattoo! But i don't know where it's from either... I have a suggestion for a blog post you could maybe do, you see, a few months ago all my hair fell out (alopecia areata) and the wig i bought to cover my poor little head fell apart despite being really pricey. If you could maybe cover some suggestions for us bald goths who want to cover our heads that would be really lovely. Or mention some wig shops (if there are any) that sell affordable, realistic wigs maybe in different colors than in the usual blonde-black spectrum? Just a suggestion...

Hi, I left a comment telling you where I thought the quote comes from. If you got this more than once, I'm not spamming you! :) My mobile phone has gone insane and it looks like things I type in have deleted and so I type it again and, well, you get the picture. Rebooted it and it's OK now. Anyway, I love the tattoo and your blog is great!
Have a nice weekend :)

Argh, I knew I recognised it from somewhere (and a copy of the book is on the shelf opposite) I should probably hand in my goth card right now.

It looks great though, and well executed. I have not yet dared to go that low down on my arm. I was meant to get tattoos done last week but I timed an appointment wrong (turned up 4 hours early to submit our wedding docs /facepalm)

Are you going to Benidorm-Spain, or there is another one? It's just that I've been in Benidorm-Spain, with my friends, and if you're going there, you should really look at Terra Mitica, it's really cool =)

Amy Asphodel said...

Benidorm, Spain! :-) Thanks for the recommendation, I will pass on your advice to the friends I'm going with.

I don't know how much the entry costs because we were like ten, and we used some kind of group tariff. Terra Mitica is like a fun park, you have all sorts of stuff that you can do. Some rides in aquatic rollercoasters, theatre (that two actors made me join to the play, to act like a slave of old times, be careful with that XD). The fun thing is, everything is like the old times, all rollercoasters and stuff have themes like the Greek Empire, the Roman Empire, Egypt (on the entry you have like a big wall with sculptures of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses, and paintings), etc, it's really fun ^^ I've searched the site on Internet for you: http://www.terramiticapark.com/index.asp?idioma=_ing

Now it's a matter of searching. Our entry was 30€/person, I believe, but we all thought the money was really well spent. And if you want to go to the beach, go to Gandia, it's not to far away, our hotel was there, and, believe me, we went to that trip on March (it was our senior trip), and, for us, it was really hot (but we saw a lot of people with heavy coats). But, if you have nice weather, you can even go to the beach at night (if you go to the beach, take a ball with you (we've bought two XD) because you have volleyball, football, basket stuff that you can use (at least it had on March)). You have also some souvenir shops if you want =)and, if you are like me, it's better to take music with you, because you will not hear music like Bauhaus or anything in there...last thing. And this is very important. Be carefull on the border, normally you will find cops there and they may want to inspect your bags =) have a good trip and if you need anything, ask. If I can help, I will =)
